The challenges and benefits of diversity. Some of the challenges of diversity include discrimination, racism, classism, sexism, ageism, aging and generation, ableism, inequality, employment disarray, and harassment. The main challenge is that of discrimination. It occurs through ageism, classism, ableism, and sexism. Discrimination also occurs based on religion, ideology, national origin, gender and sexual orientation. It is often a biased decision that is based on a prejudice against an individual or groups of individuals that are characterized by the various diversities.

The affirmative action that can be taken to stop discrimination is to adopt a policy that is aimed at redressing past discrimination by increasing the opportunities for the underrepresented people through education and employment. On the other hand, the benefits of diversity include uniqueness and innovation, resourcefulness and creativity, synergy, as well as integration and cooperation.The systems and characteristics of culture, as well as the role of communication in cultural diversity. Some of the common systems of culture include government, education, religion, economy, and the family institution.

These systems are shaped by the education structure of each culture. There exist 31 different types of governments around the world. The world is awash with thousands of religion. There three different types of economies include traditional economies, market economies and command economies. Communication plays a significant role in cultural diversity.
