MOT 541 31th Jan. Values- Self Assessment Personality is usually defined as an organized combination of values, behaviors and attributes that are unique to each personality. The values that we portray in life influence our daily activities, define our personalities, and dictate the way we interact with others including our surroundings. From the values assessment criteria, the values that had the highest scores were the most treasured values that define my personality and my daily activities. These values as selected from a pool of possible values explain the way my daily decisions are made and the way time is utilized; the values are observed in each daily activity that I undertake.

Below is a detailed explanation outlining my values and how I apply these values in my daily activities and in different scenarios. From the assessment criteria of values, the following values were found to have the highest scores in the order of merit: emotional well being, justice, wisdom, love and health. To some extent, I was not surprised by the rating of these values as the assessment as observed from the overall score. This was because; in most cases I have found myself advocating for issues that lead to overall well being of others and my well being.

These include advocating for peaceful coexistent with one another and nature, as well as avoiding situations that would result to conflict as this would result to hurting my emotional well being or others. Having values such as emotional well being, justice, love, wisdom and health having the highest scores was thus not a surprise to me for I have found myself in many cases advocating the same, directly or indirectly even at a subconscious level. Health is a value that I appreciate much and advocate for the same throughout the day.

I always try to take healthy meals throughout the day, and advise my friends on the best dieting habits to maintain their health. Wisdom enables me to start the day in the right footing. Getting out of the bed in a joyful mood, expressing a positive attitude while starting the day, improves my emotional wellbeing. In performing routine activities such as bathing, sometimes we have to queue in the limited number of washrooms available. Justice requires that I do respect others who are ahead in the queue despite them being my juniors.

In addition, I ensure that I leave my working place including the area around my desk in my classroom clean out of the value of justice. This in addition promotes the value of health for others and self. Out of love, when am walking along corridors each day, am mostly charming and greet whoever I meet along the corridors. This has even made others charming and smiling, which promotes the emotional wellbeing in the entire day. One way that I use these values during leisure is to be actively involved in sports, and other activities that revitalize my health as well as improving my mental alertness for an improved emotional well being.

Sports lead to good health boosted by relaxation of the mind after a busy day. By interacting with others through sports, I do gain much wisdom in understanding others better and love them more in addition to bringing diverse groups of people together. Such actions do facilitate love among such groups, and reduces cases of injustices that may be propagated especially by young people, who are more prone to indulging in crimes. In my vocation work I usually meet and interact with the needy or the suffering in the community or at school to ensure that they both feel loved, and encouraging them through their afflictions.

This leads to improving my emotional well being, as well as helping others to improve theirs. One aspect in occupational therapy is having the knowledge to advise others and offering directions that lead them to finding justice if wronged. I find myself using the wisdom that I have to ensure that those who have suffered injustices are advised and helped accordingly on how they may obtain justice to regain their emotional well being. Though my vocation, I do seek ways to promote healthy living practices through involving myself in health campaigns and supporting those advocating for healthy living practices in the community.

In my education, I do apply much wisdom to know how best to proceed in my studies in the right direction. It is through education that I do to put more emphasis on issues related to health in the society, and understanding the risks that are involved. In addition, through education, am always in a better position to seek ways through which injustices occur in my profession, and how best they can be prevented to have a just society. Having a good emotional well being offers a favorable opportunity for me to perform best in my education.

Wisdom on the other hand ensures that I follow the right track and that am not swayed from my objectives in my education. The overall importance of spirituality is to enhance the emotional well being of the masses, to promote love and coexistence, to enhance wisdom that has to be applied in our daily lives, and ensure that people obtain justice and feel as part of the society. To apply these values as the core roles of any spirituality, am actively involved in groups and movements that further the above ideologies including offering free counseling and participating in health related campaigns in the society.

My daily constructive interactions with both the family and friends hugely rely on the above values. Through having an emotional well being, I usually encourage others as well as being an example in the society for being optimistic and positive. In addition, I use my wisdom to ensure that there is healthy coexistence and tolerance between the various family members and friends, and observing that each family member has their rights respected to ensure that justice prevails. I do use much knowledge, wisdom and the value of health to ensure that I try everything to get rid of unhealthy behaviors such as drug taking among my family members and friends.

Some of the values that I have and do not express in my occupation are power and recognition. I have maintained a low profile over time and have not expressed the value of power to attain recognition, which are values that I believe to possess. To ensure that I apply these values, I have to be actively involved in many groups where I have to take leadership roles and make decisions to be affected by others as a leader. Leading others on a successful path results to recognition and exercising power accordingly.

These are the few steps that am supposed to take to ensure that I express the two values as mentioned above. Being in such leadership positions is expected to bring my actions and values into harmony, in readiness to achieve results.
